Job Description
Position Overview:
This vacancy requires a qualified diesel mechanic who can exercise preventative maintenance and cost-effective mechanical repairs on truck (majority Volvo trucks) and trailers in the company’s fleet.
Where needed, to attend to breakdowns in order to ensure that the company can provide professional service to all their clients.
Requirements:
• Qualified Diesel Mechanic.
• Work experience on Freightliner & Volvo engines.
• Computer literate.
• General Auto Electrical Experience.
• Available to work after hours and weekends.
• Basic knowledge on Thermo King Diesel Cooling Unit Engines.
• Code 8 Drivers License – preferable Code 14 with PDP.
Key Performance Areas:
• Responsible for all vehicle maintenance as per requirements and service standards, within agreed time frames
• Responsible to ensure the correct completion of all job cards and requisitions for parts
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to all workshop employees where needed
• Breakdowns – Willing to attend to breakdowns.
• Adhere to the OHS act and SHEQ standards by promoting safety, cleanliness and good housekeeping
• Maintain a clean working environment.
