Position: AWS Solutions Architect

Location: Remote – South Africa

About the role: Design, architect, and deliver secure, efficient cloud solutions as a Senior AWS Solutions Architect remote within South Africa. Collaborate with clients, lead Well Architected Reviews, and guide migrations.

Responsibilities:

• Guiding Clients to the Cloud: Conduct Migration Readiness Assessments to ensure smooth transitions to AWS.
• Optimizing Existing Solutions: Lead Well Architected Reviews (WARs) for existing workloads, maximizing performance and efficiency.
• Collaborative Problem-Solving: Partner with clients through technical discovery calls to understand their challenges and current infrastructure.
• Architecting for Success: Design and cost high-impact solutions leveraging the AWS Well Architected Framework and best practices.
• Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to client-facing content and deliver training sessions to empower clients with AWS expertise.
• Client Champion: Take the lead in solution architecture, ensuring clients receive the best possible guidance and support.
Minimum requirements:
• Technical Background: A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a similar field.
• Proven AWS Expertise: Hold the AWS Solutions Architect Professional Certification.
• Solid Experience: 7+ years as a Solutions Architect or Software Engineer with 2+ years specifically in AWS Solutions Architecture and Presales.
• Mastery of AWS Concepts: Proficiency in Well Architected Reviews and Migration Readiness Assessments.
• Deep Understanding: Possess a thorough grasp of the AWS Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework.
• Communication is Key: Excellent client-facing skills and the ability to translate complex solutions into clear, actionable plans for AWS environments.
• Broad Technical Expertise: Experience with various operating systems, databases, Web applications, and serverless technologies is a plus.
• Continuous Learning: A willingness to stay ahead of the curve and master new technologies quickly.

Bonus:

• AWS DevOps Professional Certification and other AWS certifications.
• TOGAF Certification demonstrates your understanding of enterprise architecture.
• Automation Expertise: Experience with automation tools, data analytics, and machine learning in the AWS Cloud.
• Migration Savvy: Familiarity with AWS migration tools like CloudEndure and Migration Evaluator.
