Job Description

Our Client located in the Durban South Area is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Specialist Prefab Buildings Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of prefabricated buildings and structures. They must have a strong understanding of construction principles, blueprint reading, and industry standards related to prefab buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

Assembly and Installation: Assemble and install prefabricated building components, including walls, floors, roofs, and other structural elements, according to construction plans and specifications.

Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites for prefab building installation, including site grading, foundation preparation, and utility connections, in coordination with site managers and contractors.

Quality Control: Conduct quality inspections of prefab building components and structures to ensure compliance with design specifications, building codes, and industry standards.

Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs of prefab buildings, including cleaning, painting, sealing, and replacing damaged or worn-out components.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose structural issues, leaks, and other problems in prefab buildings, and implement corrective actions to address these issues efficiently and effectively.

Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and hazards during prefab building assembly, installation, and maintenance activities.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including assembly instructions, installation reports, maintenance logs, and repair activities.

Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and project managers, providing updates on work progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in prefab building construction, assembly, and installation.
Knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and tools used in prefab building manufacturing and assembly.
Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks in various environments and conditions.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Additional training or certifications in construction, carpentry, or related fields is preferred.
