Job Description

EXPERIENCED SOUS CHEF (Upmarket Estate near Franschhoek)
-High Priority-

Strong Sous Chef required to form part of a dynamic team of a vibrant Bistro on an Upmarket Estate near Franschhoek. The perfect individual is someone with a strong culinary skills, experienced in hot section, with a love for food, experience in running and managing a busy Restaurant, experienced in Banqueting operations, quality driven, a leader, stable and able to perform under pressure.

Own transport essential and willing to work flexible hours. To be well spoken, fluent in English and to have a sound knowledge of best cooking and kitchen practices.

Minimum Requirements and Key Responsibilities
• A formal Culinary Education
• Minimum of 3 years‘ experience as Sous Chef level with strong culinary and banqueting background
• Assist with menu planning and costing recipes, food consumption, strict stock controls, stock management, stock movement, rotation and ordering and supplier liaison
• Excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation
• Ongoing staff training and development
• Ensuring the team has high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport a pre-requisite
• Computer literate
Remuneration: R22 000 – R26 000 Basic (dependant on experience and qualification)
Salary:
26.000,00 ZAR Monthly
