Design Engineer - SolidWorks - Fire Technology Systems - East Ran

Minimum requirements:

Minimum 3 years’ design experience in Fire Technology Systems
Experience designing on SolidWorks.
Experience in the fire industry – preferably designing vehicle systems.
 
Roles and Responsibilities:

 Compile FRA, drawings and reports for mobile installations.
Follow specifications, FRA, photos, and calculations to create technical drawings.
Prepare both rough sketches and technical drawings on SolidWorks for mobile and fixed systems.
Communicate with Operations Managers of both mobile and fixed departments, and incorporate knowledge gained into drawings.
Review and redraft existing drawings where necessary.
Ensure final designs are compliant with and industry standards.
Identify and communicate potential design issues.
Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets based on current project and team needs.
Provide support to mobile and fixed team member during the design and development phases of projects.
Generating bill of materials (BOM) and material specifications for projects.
Maintaining organised records of drawings and design documents for future reference.
Design and support prototype development and testing activities for fixed department.
Develop and maintain electronic document management system.
Any other task given to you by a duly authorised person.
Salary offer: R20K – R40K dependant on experience and skillset
