About the role
Our ever-expanding Design team are looking for a BIM Technician to join our team based in Cape Town working on global projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with other members of the production team and our in-house security engineering specialists to assist with the delivery and enhancement of our BIM offering. We are continuously seeking to advance beyond our competitors in our BIM capabilities as we have consistently raised the bar in security design.

What you will do
Key requirements of the role will include but are not limited to;

- BIM modelling for electronic engineering services using Revit software as well as AutoCAD for drawing linkage, clean-up and legacy work.
- Set up Revit project and modify Revit models and drawings for team members on the company server, whilst ensuring compliance with
company standards.
- Follow BIM standards and development procedures.
- Adhere to the BIM execution plan and BIM project workflow.
- Collaborate and Coordinate with other disciplines design changes and model challenges (internally and externally).
- Prepare BIM models for coordination meetings.
- Ensure designs and drawings adhere to deadlines.
- The production of 2D drawings from the Revit model.
- Coordinating drawing production in line with project requirements (BEP) and in conjunction with other clients and other disciplines
(external to the company).
- Helping to technically deliver Revit projects in the role of CAD and BIM coordination.
- Document control and filing of all drawings.
- Ultimately, you’ll support our procedures maintaining transparent, up-to-date and easily traceable documents.

What we are looking for
- Ability to meet deadlines and the ability to work alone, or within a team
- Enthusiasm and drive to research current trending BIM technologies and workflows etc.
- Good working knowledge of Revit sharing platforms
- Experience in the building services environment.
- Excellent planning and organization skills are required for our fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated and be able to take responsibility.
- Able to demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks.
- Revit experience on LOD400 project delivery level.
- We’re looking for an experienced mid-level Revit Technician/modeller draughts person who has experience within a BIM environment.
- The candidate will be required to formalise design sketches received from the professional team and model up as per the company's
standards they
must report on coordination and clash detection. The drawings must incorporate all technical aspects.
- The Candidate must have knowledge of Revit sharing platforms (ifc, nwc, rvt, dwg, pdf) and be able to share models within these formats.
