Job Description

Job Title: DTP Operator - POSM Print

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Desktop Publishing (DTP) Operator for a permanent position focused on point-of-sale materials (POSM) print production. As a DTP Operator, you will be responsible for creating, formatting, and preparing artwork files for high-quality print output. Your expertise in graphic design software and understanding of print production processes will be instrumental in ensuring accurate and visually appealing point-of-sale materials for our clients.

Responsibilities:

Artwork Creation and Modification: Utilize graphic design software (such as Adobe Creative Suite) to create and modify artwork files for point-of-sale materials, adhering to client specifications and brand guidelines.
Typesetting and Layout: Apply typography and layout skills to arrange text, images, and graphics in a visually appealing and readable manner for various point-of-sale materials.
Color Management: Ensure accurate color reproduction by properly managing and adjusting color profiles, converting color modes, and conducting color proofing as necessary.
Image Manipulation: Retouch, crop, and resize images to meet specific print requirements while maintaining image quality and consistency.
File Preparation: Prepare artwork files for print production by setting up proper bleeds, trim marks, and print-ready specifications, ensuring optimal print quality.
Proofing and Quality Control: Review and proof artwork files and final prints to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to client requirements and brand standards.
Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with internal teams, including graphic designers, account managers, and production staff, to gather project specifications, provide updates, and address any artwork-related issues.
File Organization and Archiving: Maintain an organized file structure, follow version control protocols, and appropriately archive completed projects and associated assets.
Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise during the artwork preparation and print production process.
Keeping up with Industry Trends: Stay updated with the latest design trends, software advancements, and printing techniques to continuously enhance the quality and efficiency of the artwork production process.
Qualifications:

Previous Experience: Proven experience 5 years as a DTP Operator or similar role, preferably in a print production or advertising agency environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and other relevant DTP tools.
Print Production Knowledge: Strong understanding of print production processes, color management, prepress procedures, and file formats required for high-quality print output.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous eye for detail, with a focus on accuracy, consistency, and quality control.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues related to artwork preparation and print production.
Adaptability: Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in creating and preparing artwork files for print, showcasing a range of point-of-sale materials, typography, and layout skills.
Education: A degree or diploma in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.
