Job Description

Most finance trainees get the opportunity to work in several roles or functions within an organisation’s finance department or across the organisation itself. This helps you to gain valuable experience, receiving ‘on-the-job’ training while being supervised by qualified Manager.

We are based in Rosebank, Gauteng.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include the following:

• Recording day to day financial transactions and completing the posting process
• You will collect, understand, process, verify and report accounting related information to their Line supervision.
• Assist in the preparing the monthly or weekly financial reports
• Develop and utilize spreadsheets, databases and other computer applications
• Enter information into the financial accounting system of the company
• Administration/Entering data/Filing and assisting with ad hoc works
• preparing statements and supplier reconciliations on a weekly basis
• Following up on Accounts receivables accounts from the company subsidiaries
• Complete administrative work while observing different aspects of accounting, portfolio management, financial reporting, or banking

Skills and Specifications:

• Studying towards BCom or completed Bookkeeping/National Diploma/ any finance related qualification
• Xero/SAP/SAGE/X3 Skills (Added Advantage)
• Excel skills (Added Advantage)
• Expertise in numbers and good math skills are very important
• The interns must have knowledge of the basic principles and practices of accounting and financial analysis
• Must be able to collect, evaluate and interpret data, in both statistical and narrative form
• Should be capable of preparing files and maintaining records and documentation
• Should have good written and oral communication skills
• Other skills required are related to problem solving, entering and verifying data, knowledge of computers, various software applications and standard office equipment
• Drivers License required
