Ops Manager

A vacancy exists for a Logistics Ops manager, in Tollgate, Durban

Job Description:

• Efficient management of operations to ensure that the operational process and procedures are always in place to meet the requirements of all clients, and to maximize the efficiency of the depot operations.
• Supervise team members
• Overlook the inventory of all operational related equipment as well as vehicles.
• Effective Load planning
• Maintain health and safety standards within the Depot
• Coordinate and execute load instructions
• Effective dispatch planning as per customer requirements
• Prepare full handover report to dayshift team
• Identify and report problem areas
• Manage clocking times and overtime daily, to ensure clocking accuracy and eliminate excess overtime
• Able to manage a medium sized multicultural team and demonstrating a high degree of cultural sensitivity.
• Motivate, organize and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure set productivity targets are met

Must have:

• Matric (Degree / Diploma in Logistics or related field would be beneficial)
• A minimum of 3-5 years working experience in logistics in a middle management role
• Reporting and effective communication
• Good problem-solving skills
• Computer literate and excel proficiency a must
• Knowledge of vehicle tracking systems, fleet management & route planning
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good people management skills
