Planning, preparing and delivering lessons
The job of a TEFL tutor involves planning, preparing and delivering lessons, preparing teaching materials, helping students improve their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in individual and group sessions, checking and assessing students’ work, and providing feedback. TEFL teachers may also teach specialised English courses such as those which cater to the needs of business people and executives from all over the world, and assess and record pupils progress by setting and marking coursework and examinations. They may also conduct “needs assessments” of students to determine best approach, teach grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and special areas such as Business English, Young Learners or exam preparation.

Previous experience in classroom tutoring is required.
