Job Description

SALES REPRESENTATIVE
R20 000 – R17 000 Neg

An established, dynamic and well-developed brand that is a National Concern with branches across South Africa, has an opportunity available for an experienced individual that specializes in Sales. You will fulfil the role of Sales Representative within their Randburg branch. The ideal candidate will be disciplined and presentable with a minimum of 3 – 4 years’ experience.

You will be responsible but not limited to:

Sales and Business Development:
Implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets for assigned FMCG products
Identify potential customers and distributors in the territory and develop new business opportunities
Conduct market research to understand customer needs, preferences, and competitor activities
Present and promote FMCG products to prospective clients and conduct product demonstrations when necessary
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms of sale to secure business agreements

Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, retailers, and distributors to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty
Regularly visit clients to address their concerns, provide product knowledge, and offer support
Resolve customer complaints and enquiries promptly, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution
Collaborate with internal teams, such as marketing and supply chain, to ensure smooth order processing and timely delivery of products

Territory Management:
Plan and organize sales activities within the assigned territory to maximize productivity and efficiency
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the territory's market dynamics, including customer preferences, demographics, and competition
Monitor and analyse sales data and market trends to identify growth opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly
Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and budgets for management review

Product Knowledge and Training:
Maintain in-depth knowledge of FMCG products, including features, benefits, and usage guidelines
Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to adapt sales strategies and maintain a competitive edge
Conduct training sessions for retailers, distributors, and internal sales teams to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques

Sales Administration:
Efficiently manage administrative tasks, such as order processing, sales documentation, and reporting
Utilise Company software or other tools to track customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline management
Provide accurate and timely sales forecasts, reports, and other required documentation to management

Qualifications:
Matric
Sales & Marketing Diploma / Certificate will be adv
Proven experience as an FMCG sales representative or a similar role in the consumer goods industry, with at least 3 - 4 years’ experience
Proficient in using MS Office Suite, and sales-related tools
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory
A well maintained and roadworthy motor vehicle

Basic salary on offer + commission + fuel allowance + cell phone allowance

Skills:
Strong sales and negotiation skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain customer relationships
Knowledge of FMCG products, market trends, and consumer behaviour
Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a proactive approach to sales
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills and able to work well with a diverse team (Afrikaans & English)
Deadline orientated and work well under pressure
