Gold Recovery Plant Operator

Qualifications: Minimum NQF Level 3 qualification

Job Type: 3 Month Fixed Term

Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in Gold Plant Operation

Key Performance Areas:

· Plant production

· Personnel safety/plant safety

· Plant housekeeping

· Reporting to the process engineer/ Data and log sheet quality

· Reporting to the client group regarding incidents/issues related to the plant

· Sampling and test work according to procedures to ensure quality of the results given

· Instrumentation calibration

Responsibilities:

· Conduct daily risk assessment and ensure all safety measures are in place before attending any work on site

· Ensuring that the correct PPE is always worn

· Completing all tasks safely within the Mine Health and Safety Regulations

· Engaging in daily toolbox talks and ensuring the daily risk assessment is done correctly.

· Operation within the plant boundary

o Screening of carbon material

o Loading of carbon material into the mill

o Reagent make-up according to the required concentrations

o Operation of the RIL circuit

o Elution of the loaded resin

o Transfer of the resin and waste slurry

· Analysis and log sheet completion according to the monitoring program

· Reporting of all issues, incidents, changes etc. to the Process Engineer that was observed during the day that had an impact on the Au recovery process before his end of shift. Conduct shift handover

· Monitor plant reagent consumption

· Communication with the process engineer to ensure all work that is needed on site is completed on planned maintenance shutdowns
