JDS-HME Repairs Estimator

Objective:

Estimate project costs focusing on labour, materials, and consumables for HME capital and repair in the Repair Department.

Responsibilities:

Estimate costs using technical drawings and specifications for HME projects.

Analyze material requirements and conduct detailed cost analysis.

Prepare accurate and competitive scope of work documents.

Identify project risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Collaborate with suppliers for competitive pricing and terms.

Document estimates and facilitate project meetings.

Improve estimating processes and provide status reports.

Visit sites/factories to understand project scopes.

Requirements:

NQF Level 5 in a related field (Operations/Engineering) preferred.

Qualified artisan (Boilermaking/welding) training or experience advantageous.

Minimum 5 years in a similar position.

Knowledge of Q&T steel structures and fabrication methods.

Experience with ISO & OSHAS systems.

Project management insights.

Skills:

Strong negotiation and explanation skills.

Initiative, time management, and technical drawing interpretation.

Operational acumen and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Physical fitness for site visits.

Effective interaction with diverse populations and teamwork.
