Occupational Health and Safety Officer

• Verify the quality of products manufactured
• Make recommendations on the reprocessing of low-quality products
• Responsible for the documentation of inspections and tests conducted on the products
• Ensure that products meet quality standards such as ISO 9001
• Ensure effective control of non- conforming products as per procedures and ensure proper corrective actions take place
• Ensure that OHS policies, procedures and rules are always implemented and complied with
• Responsible for legal appointments and maintenance of OHS records
• Ensure emergency evacuation drills are conducted according to specified intervals and obstacles identified during the drill are
recorded on the postmortem report and attended to
• Ensure safety representatives' inspections are conducted according to specified intervals, and deviations are actioned and closed
• Ensure firefighting equipment is inspected according to specified intervals and that it is always in good state of use
• Ensure regular rack inspections and repairs to damaged racking are done where applicable
• Ensure that lifting equipment is regularly checked, test and certified fit for use
• Facilitate OHS training requirements and liaise with the Training Department on OHS training
