Job Description
Certificate in Payroll Administration
3 to 5 years of related payroll experience required.
Bargaining Council administration experience is essential.
Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
Proficient with Sage People Payroll System.
Fair and consistent application of HR Policies and procedures.
South African Labour legislations(BCEA, EE, COIDA etc.)
Statutory requirements. (UIF, SDL levy, PAYE, Taxation,)
Third party Payments (Garnishee orders, Medical Aid, Provident fund, Tax, UIF, COID, SDL etc)
Bargaining Council – Mains agreement
Leave Reconciliation
Payroll Reporting
Business Acumen
Payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including Wages, overtime pay, Annual Leave, Sick Leave, Holiday bonus, garnishments, taxes, Provident fund, Wellness and other deductions.
Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates as determined by the bargaining council.
Communicate staff and Line Managers on Payroll cut off times.
Manage all Employee benefits, Provident Fund and Wellness with Bargaining Council.
Submit all Leave applications to the bargaining council for processing and update Sage payroll as well.
Assist all Bargaining Council Employees on all Payroll related queries and leave queries, daily.
Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
Manage the Compensation for Occupational Diseases Process (COIDA)
Accurate record keeping of all staff documents and filing.
Ensures compliance with legislation on payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors and Bargaining council audit.
Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
Issue IPR5 forms to employees at the end of the tax year.
Ensure that all relevant knowledge regarding Payroll is kept current at all times, eg. Taxation etc.
Ensure that the methods of calculations on SAGE People are always correct.
Schedule bank payments.
Generate monthly payslips for distribution
Participate in and complete projects as agreed per the projects list.
Performs other duties as assigned.
