Job Description

Regional Client Briefs

Receive briefs from regional furniture specialists to understand their needs
and preferences for design projects.

Prepare design concepts and colour schemes and present to furniture specialists for client presentations.

Foster strong internal furniture team relationships through effective communication and exceptional service with design work preparation.

Design Developments

Develop innovative and functional design concepts that align with client expectations.

Create detailed design presentations, including mood boards, and 3D renderings.

Revise designs based on client feedback and ensure satisfaction with the final concept.

Develop lifestyle render and video content for online sites for marketing material purposes.

Space Planning

At times conduct thorough site assessments to understand space constraints and opportunities.

Develop efficient space plans that maximize functionality and aesthetics.

Ensure designs comply with building codes, accessibility standards, and safety regulations.

Create detailed plans and layouts, including furniture, fixture and material placements.

Technical Drawings

Produce accurate and detailed drawings, including floor plans, elevations where necessary.

Utilize design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Corona) to create precise drawings and specification to present video walk through on project presentations.

Collaboration

Work closely with internal furniture team, customers and suppliers to integrate all aspects of design.

Foster a collaborative environment that encourage creative solutions and teamwork.

Industry Current Trends

Stay abreast of industry trends, new materials and interior design innovations.

Attend design shows, supplier launches and training sessions to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Integrate the latest trends and technologies into design projects.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

Bachelors ‘s degree in Interior Design, or related field

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in interior design.

Software Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Chaos Corona and Adobe Creative

Suite (BIM360 would be an advantage).

A strong portfolio showcasing a range of interior design projects.

Personal Attributes and Skills Required

Ability to develop original design concepts and solutions.

Keen eye for detail and precision in design execution

Strong problem-solving skills to address design challenges.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with suppliers, customers and team members.

Sound knowledge and understanding the Bidvest Waltons business, its policies and procedures applicable to the specific work environment; sufficient to ensure that work outcomes are fully compliant.

Advanced business communication skills enabling verbal and written communication at all levels.

The ability to interact with people at all levels in the organisation and externally with customers and suppliers.
