Driver / General Worker

Genuine Connection requires the services of an honest, responsible and energetic person to fill the position of DRIVER/GENERAL WORKER at their Paarl offices.

The purpose of this job is to transport goods or passengers from our offices to businesses or personal homes in such a manner as to ensure safe, correct and on-time delivery (or collection) of goods. This includes the completion of admin forms/ travel logs, loading /unloading of goods, communication with customers and other general worker duties.

Knowledge & Experience Required
• Senior certificate (Matric) or equivalent knowledge and experience
• Valid driver’s license (Code 10/ E with valid PDP)
• Advanced driving course would be advantageous
• 5 years’ previous experience as delivery driver with a clean driving record

Skills required
• Good eyesight and physical condition (health)
• Neat, well-spoken and courteous
• Bilingual (able to understand English or Afrikaans customers)
• Good sense of direction with the ability to read maps/ follow directions
• Able to work independently with little supervision

• Load and unload of goods

• General vehicle maintenance, cleaning and checklist controls
• Basic driver admin (log book, delivery notes, invoices collect, etc.)
• Transport of employees for overtime or night shifts
• General work assistance in raw material store, moving equipment or materials
• Collection of mail at company P.O. Box
• Removal of waste to dumping areas
