Job Description

Facility in Parow in need of a Staff Nurse. If you have a passion for caring for the elderly and ensuring their health and well-being, this opportunity could be perfect for you. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience with the following:

Ensure high standards of nursing care to meet the needs of the residents
Plan and follow a daily care schedule with patients, modify care plans as prescribed by medical professionals, and report on any new conditions or needs that may arise

Following a prescribed healthcare plan, which may include assisting with exercise and administering medication

Providing emotional support and encouragement to perform necessary tasks

Providing mobility assistance may be required, for example helping the client in and out of bed, a chair, or a wheelchair

Monitoring and reporting changes in health, behaviour, and needs

Administering prescribed medication

Keep up to date records with regards to night shift patient care

Taking of blood pressure and recording of weight gain or loss

Preparing of daily medications

Qualifications:

Matric or equivalent

Diploma in Nursing

Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)

Nursing background and experience with the elderly

Minimum 2 – 3 years’ experience

You should be patient, empathetic and have strong peoples’ skills

Should be observant and committed to making your patient feel safe and comfortable

Excellent communication skills, verbally and written

Can communicate well in Afrikaans & English

Strong administration skills

Good compassion and highly professional relationship builder with residents
