Job Description

A Wine Steward is responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing the wine inventory, and suggesting wine pairings and food/wine combinations. The Wine Steward must have extensive knowledge of wine, including production, regions, flavor profiles, and food-pairing.

Wine Steward Duties
Advise customers on wine selection
Order, receive and store wines
Maintain wine inventory and pricing
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
Assist in developing wine lists and promotions

Wine Steward Skills
Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
Must possess the ability to educate customers on wine production, characteristics and pairings
Must be able to advise customers on wine selection
Must be able to upsell and suggest wine pairings
Must be able to maintain wine inventory and stock
Must possess strong organizational and time management skills

Wine Steward Requirements
Ability to recommend wine to customers
Ability to store and serve wine appropriately
Ability to recommend food pairings
Ability to stock inventory
Ability to maintain records of wine inventory
