Conceptualization of software solutions.

Responsible for reviewing business structures in order to ensure the proper flow and functionality of a business's system.
A Solutions architect may venture into a server or systems area in order to monitor and troubleshoot hardware and thus have to have knowledge of infrastructure as well.
Act as Solutions project manager, overseeing IT assignments that are aimed at improving the business, and ensuring all parts of the project run smoothly.
Diagnose complex computer system issues.
Other duties may be to mentor and aid in the development of aspiring Solutions architects and also the sharing of knowledge as input to a global architecture forum to improve the business’s architectural practices and quality improvement initiatives.
Be involved from start to finish on each project within the business domain you practise in, it's essential to understand all aspects of each system, from both a business and Solutions point of view.
Full working knowledge of the underlying technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, SQL Server and TCP/IP for example, as well as knowledge of programming languages such as C# and JavaScript and also scripting tools such as PowerShell.
