Position: Foundation Phase Special Needs EducatorLocation: Montana, PretoriaEmployment Type:
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver tailored lessons in alignment with the DCAPS curriculum, focusing on the needs of learners with autism and other developmental challenges.
Provide individualized support and create a structured, sensory-friendly classroom environment.
Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development through innovative and hands-on teaching methods.
Collaborate with therapists, parents, and the school team to develop and implement Individual Educational Plans (IEPs).
Promote independence, communication skills, and emotional well-being in learners.
Requirements:
A teaching qualification specializing in Foundation Phase education.
Experience teaching learners with autism or other special needs is essential.
Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) methods is an advantage.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
A genuine passion for inclusive education and neurodiversity.
