Engineering Technician - (Boilermaker/Machinist) - URGENT PLACEMENT
Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape

Must have 3 - 4 years of working experience/skills.
Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, welders, etc - requirement

The purpose of this position is to provide specialized engineering and hydraulic backup service to material handling equipment, systems, and products on company premises or at customer sites in a timely and cost-effective manner so that customer and company requirements are met.

SKILLS REQUIRED: must-have skills/experience in operating lathes, milling machines, grinds, welders, etc. - not negotiable

- Provide complete customer satisfaction politely and professionally.
- Ensure proper communication between self, workshop staff (Supervisor and Controller), and customer.
- Ensure OHSACT requirements are met in all actions on company and client's premises; maintains a safe work environment by verify vehicle
safety device operation, following standards and procedures, and in general complying with legal regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Perform high-quality workmanship on material handling components as well as manufacturing of new parts.
- Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, welders, etc., in a safe, economical manner.
- Perform according to the required industry standards.

Required minimum knowledge, skills education/training, and experience requirement(s):
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, education/training, and experience required for this position:
- Matric, Grade 12, or equivalent qualification.
- Qualified welder, turner, machinist, fitter, and boiler maker plus experience with forklifts or similar material handling with a minimum
working experience of 5 years.

- Excellent communication skills with people at all levels in an organization - must be able to converse fluently and comfortably in English,

Required certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Trade Test Certificate (Machinist, Welder, Fitter, Boilermaker).
- Code 8 driver's license.

- Advanced welding experience with relevant trade papers.
