Seeking a Senior Pipe Laying Foreman for a project-based contract in Lusaka, Zambia, focused on replacing sewer pipes. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience as a Civil and Structural Foreman, with expertise in ensuring that all piping work is executed according to specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations. This role involves site supervision, quality assurance, and ensuring timely project completion within budget constraints. A Pipe Laying Certificate is an added advantage.

Minimum Requirements:
10+ years of experience in civil and structural construction, specializing in pipe laying.
Proven experience as a Civil & Structural Foreman on infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of pipe laying techniques, underground piping systems, and trenching operations.
Familiarity with engineering codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
A Pipe Laying Certificate is an added advantage.
Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
Previous experience working on projects in Africa is an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Site Supervision & Execution:
Oversee the laying and installation of underground pipes in accordance with project plans and engineering specifications.
Ensure that work is executed efficiently, accurately, and within project timelines.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
Enforce compliance with engineering standards, project specifications, and health & safety (H&S) regulations.
Conduct inspections and quality control checks to prevent defects or safety risks.
Budget & Schedule Management:
Ensure that piping work is completed within budget and according to the project schedule.
Identify and mitigate potential delays or cost overruns.
Workforce Coordination:
Supervise and coordinate pipe laying teams, equipment operators, and labourers.
Provide on-the-job training and guidance to ensure best practices in pipe laying.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication:
Prepare progress reports for the Project Manager, highlighting any issues or deviations from plans.
Participate in site meetings and provide technical input regarding pipe laying operations.
