Overview of the position:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Internal Sales and Marketing Administrator to join our client’s team in Port Elizabeth.
This role is ideal for a candidate with
strong administrative skills,
a passion for client interaction,
and the ambition to grow into an external sales and marketing role over time.
Therefore, if you are already in an external sales and marketing role, this position may not be suited for you, as it is going to be internal administration and learning the systems for at least the first year. This is a development role.
The successful candidate will provide essential support to the external senior sales representative,
learn the intricacies of the company systems,
assist with servicing existing clients while contributing to business growth.
This is a development role with a clear growth trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administration & Systems Management
Load and track orders in the system to ensure on-time delivery.
Liaise with customers regarding orders, queries, and feedback.
Maintain accurate customer data and manage stock levels.
Participate in daily production and sales meetings to align priorities with the production team.
Handle manual interventions and navigate an intricate system efficiently.
2. Client Interaction
Provide backup support for the senior sales representative, including customer communication and order processing.
Assist with maintaining and growing relationships with existing clients.
Ensure customers receive timely feedback and updates.
3. Sales Development
Contribute to growing the client base by identifying leads and performing cold calling as required.
Support in preparing product samples for trials and conducting client site visits as the role evolves.
Participate in planning and implementing marketing strategies for internal and external use.
4. Forecasting & Reporting
Assist with forecasting sales volumes and preparing reports for internal use.
Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities.
5. Training & Growth
Develop proficiency in internal systems and processes with the guidance of senior staff.
Key Requirements
Education:
Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business Administration, or similar
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in marketing, administration, or internal sales (less experience considered for candidates with strong potential).
Skills:
Strong administrative skills with proficiency in MS Word and advanced Excel.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English. Afrikaans proficiency is advantageous but not mandatory.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and team members.
A proactive, extroverted personality with a hunger to grow professionally.
Other Requirements:
Ability to travel occasionally to East London and King William’s Town (1-2 days as needed).
Must have a valid Drivers License
Comfortable with early start hours (typically 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
Willing to handle occasional after-hours work if required for customer support or delivery follow-ups.
