A leading Restaurant Group with five establishments in Johannesburg and Pretoria is in search of an Executive Chef. Candidates must be willing to travel between locations within Gauteng. We require individuals with a minimum of 10 years of senior chef experience and a comprehensive knowledge of modern culinary trends. Experience in an upscale casual dining setting is mandatory; candidates with hotel or lodge experience will not be considered. The successful applicant will be responsible for menu development and costing. Primary duties include ensuring adherence to the group's food quality standards, training kitchen staff on new recipes, and overseeing stock and food costs across the group. Only experienced candidates with strong references will be considered; those with a history of frequent job changes will not be accepted. Proficiency in cooking and general kitchen management is required, as this role involves both culinary and managerial tasks. The position demands weekend and evening availability, as it is not a standard daytime job. The candidate should also be prepared to take charge of the kitchen when necessary.
