Job Description

Location: Boksburg, Johannesburg
We are looking for a reliable Junior Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the purchasing process by sourcing and acquiring products, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery. You will work closely with the parts department to assist in making cost-effective purchasing decisions, managing inventory, and helping to maintain the quality and availability of goods.
Duties And Responsibilities: (But not limited to)
• New supplier sourcing, requesting credit applications, price negotiation.
• Issue POs to suppliers and send POP to suppliers after payment.
• Regular follow ups on delivery of ordered parts/stock. (ensure parts arrive timeously)
• Arrange collections of parts with driver.
• Ensuring PO files stay up to date.
• Sourcing of parts for Technicians when required (find solutions if parts are not available from regular suppliers)
• Regular updating of cost prices on service spreadsheet
• Ad hoc admin when needed from management.
• Capture supplier invoices on Insphire system, ensuring all previous month’s invoices are received and processed for payment.
• Assist with costing and retail prices for customer quotations.
• Regularly liaise with stores department for re-ordering of stocks.
• To ensure the parts are ordered and delivered on time, to minimize downtime for machines.
• Regular eta updates and pushing suppliers for delivery or collection of parts are crucial.
Requirements
• High school certificate or equivalent.
• At least 1-2 years of experience as a Junior Buyer, preferably within a business-services environment.
• Familiarity with technical concepts, port machinery and operating systems.
Skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Interpersonal Skills- ability to communicate with various departments.
• Ability to monitor and negotiate the quality of receivables.
• Adaptability – the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
