Job Description
Our client is seeking two highly skilled Senior Bookkeepers (1 x Knysna Branch and 1 x Plettenberg Bay Branch) to join their professional and dynamic team. These are full-time positions with excellent opportunities for growth and skill development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a diverse portfolio of clients and industries, handling bookkeeping tasks up to trial balance level.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns, EMP201 and EMP501 submissions
• Process payroll and maintain WCA and UIF compliance
• Maintain an up-to-date asset register
• Utilize various accounting software platforms including Xero, Pastel, Sage Online, QuickBooks Online, Zoho, Pastel Payroll, and Excel
• Handle multiple client accounts efficiently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Communicate professionally with clients, providing clear and timely updates
Preferred Qualifications:
• Relevant certifications or diploma in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance
• Previous experience in a professional services firm is a plus
Required Skills & Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping experience
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and compliance
• Experience with various accounting software (Xero, Pastel, Sage, etc.)
• Ability to work with multiple clients simultaneously
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting deadlines
• Strong time management skills in a professional services environment
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans (verbal and written)
Salary: R20 000 – R25 000 (depending on qualification and experience)
