Job Description

JOB PURPOSE/OBJECTIVES

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Retail Store Manager for a short-term assignment (6 months contract with the possibility to be permanent) to manage the sale of discontinued and idle stock. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background, with expertise in upselling and cross-selling, and the ability to think critically and innovatively to maximize sales.

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

• Sales Focus: Implement and execute sales strategies specifically aimed at selling discontinued and idle stock, utilizing upselling and cross-selling techniques.
• Customer Engagement: Create a positive shopping experience by engaging with customers, understanding their needs, and offering suitable product recommendations.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of discontinued and idle stock, ensuring optimal product placement and availability.
• Innovation: Identify and implement innovative sales tactics to attract customers and boost sales of targeted stock.
• Critical Thinking: Apply critical thinking skills to address challenges, optimize sales processes, and make informed decisions to achieve sales targets.

JOB/EDUCATIONAL/QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
• Proven experience in retail sales, preferably with a focus on selling discontinued or idle stock.
• Strong sales and customer service skills, with a track record of successful upselling and cross-selling.
• Innovative mind-set with the ability to think outside the box.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in retail management software and MS Office.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in sales or business management are a plus.
