Job Description
We seek an experienced, dynamic and energised Slitter Operators for our busy factory in Blackheath. The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient production, adherence to quality and safety standards and team success
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in operating a slitting machine in plastic film, packaging or printing industries.
- Solid understanding of slitting operations and roll winding. production processes, and ability to troubleshoot.
- Familiarity with plastic film properties and defects.
- Comfortable utilising computers for shift reporting and material tracking.
- Team orientated with strong discipline, communication and work ethic.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Core Responsibilities:
Machine setup and Operation:
- Setting up and operating the slitting machine according to shift plan with minimal downtime.
- Adjust machine settings for speed, tension and blade alignment to maintain optimal operation.
Ensure finished rolls are correctly labelled, packaged and prepared for the next phase in production.
- Achieve daily and monthly production target
Quality Control
- Ensure outputs align with job specifications and agreed quality standards in terms of dimensions and specifications.
- Inspect material before and after slitting to ensure accuracy, cleanliness and defect free rolls.
- Secure timely QA approvals to prevent complaints and rework.
Machine health monitoring
- Report faults to Production Manager and Maintenance supervisor to minimise downtime.
- Perform routine planned machine maintenance and trouble shoot any issues which may arise. Log all maintenance performed on machine in Planned Maintenance Logbook.
Material Handling
- Loading and unloading materials, ensuring they are properly aligned and secure for seamless production.
Documentation
- Daily record material usage and output slitted rolls accurately (Input/Output reconciliation).
- Submit shift reconciliation sheet at end of shift
- Ensure accurate records of machine operations and any adjustments made.
Safety and Compliance
- Strict adherence to safety, food safety and hygiene procedures and standards.
- Wear PPE and strictly follow all industrial safety standards.
HR and Factory Compliance
- Adherence to Company policies including attendance, dress code and respectful behaviour.
- Set a positive example of professionalism and discipline
Cleanliness &5 S
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Follow 5 S principles and procedures. Dispose of waste as per SOP procedure.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs):
- Production efficiency (Plan vs. Actual Output).
- Machine uptime and downtime reduction.
- Waste reduction and quality improvement.
- SOP compliance and accurate record-keeping.
- Adherence to safety and cleanliness protocols
