Job Description
To support the efficient and compliant movement of goods across domestic and international borders by coordinating freight activities, ensuring accurate customs documentation, and liaising with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate import and export shipments in line with company timelines and compliance standards.
• Prepare and verify shipping and customs documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, import/export declarations).
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to track shipments and resolve any logistical or customs-related issues.
• Provide quick and accurate freight quotes to internal teams or customers, using knowledge of current rates and carrier options.
• Recommend the most cost-effective and reliable carriers based on destination, transit time, and shipment type.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, customs entries, and duty/tax payments.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
• Assist with internal audits and provide documentation as required.
• Monitor and report on shipping performance, customs clearance times, and cost efficiency.
• Support duty optimization and customs planning initiatives.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in customs and trade regulations.
• Perform general administrative duties within the freight and customs function.
