Qualified Electrician

VACANCY – QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN

A well-established packaging manufacturer has a vacancy for a Qualified Electrician. This is
a 3-month fixed term contract with the potential of a permanent contract.
The role is based Southern Suburbs in Ottery Cape Town, and will
report to the Workshop Manager.

The job requirements and duties are as follows:

 Recognized Red Seal Certificate (non-negotiable).
 Preferably 3 – 5+ years’ experience in the production environment.
 Proven knowledge of installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring, distribution
boards and variable speed drives.
 Responsible for maintaining hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components such
as cylinders, pumps, conveyors, motor valves and bearing assembles.
 The incumbent must be able to read electrical drawings and technical diagrams.
 Excellent fault-finding skills in electrical and mechanical areas necessary.
 3 Phase knowledge strongly advantageous.
 Working knowledge of PLC (programmable logic controller) a distinct advantage.
 Experience on packaging and extrusion machines preferred.
 Valid driver’s license

Minimum requirements:
 Grade 12
 Red Seal Certification (non-negotiable)
 Excellent fault-finding skills
 Proven experience as a maintenance electrician
 Familiarity with industrial machines
 Valid Driver’s license
 Good communication skills
 Work independently and as part of a team.

The position will require occasional overtime, weekend shifts and standby work, and the salary
is commensurate with experience.
