Job Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented E-PLAN Electrical Design Draughtsman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and drafting electrical plans, including PLC schematics, MCC layouts, control panel designs, and general electrical drawings using E-PLAN. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, thorough product knowledge, excellent design skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technicians and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop detailed electrical drawings, including PLC, MCC, control panels, and wiring diagrams, using E-PLAN
- Assist in the design of electrical panel layouts and general electrical installations
- Maintain accurate records of all drawings, revisions, and related documentation
- Work closely with technicians and engineers to ensure accurate and functional designs
- Support the continuous improvement of quality systems related to panel manufacturing
- Ensure compliance with project requirements, client and industry standards, and quality protocols
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience in an Electrical Design Draughting role within an engineering environment
- Proven experience using E-PLAN for electrical schematics and panel design
- Strong knowledge of electrical components, systems, and industrial automation
- Understanding of engineering and design principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications:
- Matric with strong academic results (required)
- National Diploma or N6 in Electrical Engineering (advantageous)
- Certification in Electrical Design and Draughting, specifically in E-PLAN software
