Job Description
Heunis Steel (Pty) Ltd located in Kirkney Pretoria West is looking for a Dispatch Shift Foreman.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Dispatch foreman is responsible for the effective and efficient operations of the dispatch and warehouse area, which includes but is not limited to staff, time and attendance, reporting processes, quality, and loading.

GENERAL
* MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO WORK SHIFTS
•     Opening or closing of factory/dispatch depending on the shift you are scheduled for.
•     Taking full responsibility for the premises during night shift.
•     Managing and directing the workflow of the loading teams to ensure efficient loading within given targets.
•     Liaise and assist factory sales customers with pick-ups.
•     Give relevant feedback to your manager daily and follow all lawful and reasonable instructions issued by him.
•     Assist with daily alcohol testing as and when required
•     Responsible to report IODs in the dispatch department and assist with additional tasks related to IODs as required.
•     Check and recording of the diesel tank level daily and assist with the receiving and recording of diesel monthly or as required.

DISPATCH
•     Control the planning and loading of trucks to ensure correct loading
•     Oversee weighing of trucks for correct weight distribution on axles
•     Receiving, unloading and placing of returned stock in the return-bay
•     Always keep the return bay in a neat and clean order
•     Notify the dispatch manager and the relevant factory foreman of any orders that must be placed on back order via WhatsApp and a phone call.
•     Fill in appropriate stock return documentation (GRN etc.)
•     Assist with returns from the hospital truck
•     Do daily counts (flatsheets etc.)
•     Manage daily schedules, employee shifts, and time-off requests
•     Assign duties to employees and oversee their progress and performance.
•     Train and integrate new workers
•     Provide guidance and feedback to employees when needed
•     Ensure company rules and regulations are followed
•     Handle customer and employee complaints
•     Resolve conflicts between employees
•     All work assigned for a shift must be completed before the end of shift, loading of local trucks must be completed before leaving.
•     Ensure that all horses are hooked with the correct trailers.

WAREHOUSE
•     Keeping the warehouse clean, neat and organized - responsible for housekeeping.
•     Complete a credit liability form for returned stock, also add all supporting documentation and information to the documentation regarding the incident.
•     Daily stock check in line with procedures on the small storeroom.
•     Managing the production of dunnage bags against target and making sure that the dunnage bag production section is clean and neat.
•     Make sure all bins in the warehouse are clearly marked for picking purposes
•     Make sure that all empty bins in the warehouse are sent back to production within a reasonable time
•     Liaise with production foreman daily regarding stock – give them a clear indication of over and understock situations
•     Do daily quality checks on products and report the findings to management.
•     Do monthly preparation for stock take and assist during the stock take.

SECURITY
•     Do debriefing with drivers when they return to the premises-complete all documentation re the debriefing in full.
•     Receive, check, mark and store tarpaulins, tarpaulins need to be checked for damages or defects, same must be reported and repairs must be done as far as possible.
•     Count, record, report and redistribute re-usable dunnage bags returned on the trucks
•     Do a general check for visible damages to the truck and trailer and record your findings, report daily.

Any uncertainty regarding your duties and or responsibilities as well as company policy or procedure must be reported to your direct manager. Any lawful and reasonable instruction issued by management form part of your duties and responsibilities.
