Job Description
A poultry farm employee assists in daily operations on the farm. This can include checking birds, collecting eggs and feeding. Candidate must at least have a grade 12 certificate.
Key roles and Responsibilities:
1. Ensure birds have access to food and water.
2. Walk through the house to Identify sick or injured birds.
3. Utilize proper biosecurity standards when entering and exiting houses on layer farms, assist with egg collection.
4. Control temperature and ventilation of houses for ultimate bird comfort.
5. Conduct maintenance on the house and watering/heating system as needed.
6. Control house lighting to meet bird needs.
7. Maintain high standards of animal welfare.
8. Assist with hatching process on hatch days.
9. Assist with general ground maintenance on the farm.
10. Cleaning enclosures
11. Maintaining facilities in good working order
12.Monitoring flock behavior to detect any signs of illness.
13. Keeping detailed records
