Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. The ideal candidate will be a skilled leader with a passion for culinary excellence, strong managerial skills, and a keen attention to detail. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of the kitchen, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, and managing a team of kitchen staff.

Responsibilities:

Menu Planning and Development:

Collaborate with the head chef to create innovative and appealing menu offerings.
Regularly review and update menus to reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
Monitor food costs and adjust menu prices as necessary.
Kitchen Operations:

Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency, quality, and adherence to recipes.
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and track food costs to maintain budgetary guidelines.
Implement and enforce proper food handling and sanitation standards.
Staff Management:

Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring proper onboarding and ongoing development.
Schedule and manage kitchen staff shifts, breaks, and vacations to maintain efficient staffing levels.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.
Quality Control:

Conduct regular inspections of food preparation areas to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain high standards.
Financial Management:

Work closely with the restaurant management to achieve budgetary goals and control food costs.
Analyze financial reports and take appropriate action to address variances and improve profitability.
Customer Service:

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of food orders to meet customer expectations.
Address customer feedback and complaints, implementing improvements as needed.
Equipment Maintenance:

Coordinate regular maintenance of kitchen equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Arrange for repairs or replacements as necessary.
Health and Safety Compliance:

Stay informed about and enforce all relevant health and safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety training for kitchen staff and implement emergency procedures.
Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager or in a similar role.
Culinary degree or equivalent experience in the food industry.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
Financial acumen for budget management.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
