Qualifications / Requirements:
• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of work experience as a Field Guide in a Lodge Environment
• Level 1 FGASA qualification or Higher with theory and practical completed
• Registered with DEAT and THETA in terms of improving qualifications
• Valid First Aid certificate
• SASSETA Certificates - preferable
• Valid code 8 Drivers License with PDP
• Excellent communication and people-handling skills
• An inherent passion for observing, sharing, and learning
• The ability to work on his/her own with enthusiasm
• Flexible in that he / she is willing to change plans on the spur of the moment and is willing to innovate in the interests of the guest and company
• Confident but humble
• Co-operative and keen to work with the balance of the team in the interests of the lodge and Guests
• Organised, with attention to detail and good time management
• A developmental approach to his/her staff and colleagues
• Professional and neat in personal appearance and image
Key Performance Areas:
• Hosting Guests throughout their Lodge experience from arrival to departure
• Efficient assistance with front-of-house admin, including Guest billing and Lodge Stock controls, procurement, and management
• Room checks to ensure housekeeping function is of the highest standard
• Coordinating daily menu with the Kitchen team
• Coordinating Guest arrivals and departures with Lodge Team and various departments
• Maintain a high service ethic and standard across all aspects of the Lodge in Manager's absence
• Assist in implementing and maintaining systems and procedures in line with company guidelines
• Assist in stock control and monthly stock reporting for ALL stocks
• Assist in managing Lodge inventories
• Conduct on-site game drives for guests and meeting criteria as set out by the lodge
• Conducting game counts (off-season)
