Qualifications / Requirements:
• Minimum level of B.Com Accounting
• Good comprehension of business principles
• The ability to communicate professionally and confidently is essential coupled with an ability to think independently and creatively
• A flair for systems with a view to continuous improvement
Key Performance Areas:
Human Resources:
• Define staff requirements, recognizing areas of vulnerability and taking cognisance of succession planning
• Preparing of job profiles/specifications and key performance areas along with key measurement areas
• Selection, training, career-pathing and motivation of personnel
• Authorise staff leave, overtime and claims
• Conduct disciplinary enquiries/hearings
• Staff performance appraisals
Financial management:
• Attainment of budgets / forecasts
• Monitor all income and expenses
• Monthly income reconciliations
• Ensure that all audit fees, monthly and quarterly invoicing is done
• Compile a weekly report summarising WIP, client visits, funding and invoicing
• Follow up on outstanding claims/invoices with Customs
Customer and supplier management:
• Foster a good working relationship with all service providers
• Maintain regular interaction with clients and build a good rapport with them
• Assess and reassess client requirements and needs
• Ensure that claim values are being maximized
• Apply for permits
• Apply for EU declarations
Quality and performance standards management / risk management:
• Quality and productivity orientation
• Attain the corporate goals and thus provide the shareholders with a suitable return on investment
• Review permit write offs
• Check and sign all shortfall reports on imports
