Back End Developer

Back End Developer – for a company based in Elsies River area of Cape Town to start immediately.
Required Skills & Experience
• 2 – 3 Years’ experience in backend development with specific use of WordPress, including theme and plugin development.
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and plugins (WooCommerce).
• Basic knowledge of web servers and hosting environments.
• Strong understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Proficient in MySQL or other relational databases.
• Experience with version control systems.
• Familiarity with responsive design principles.
• Understanding of web accessibility standards.
• Experience with cPanel.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong work ethic.
• A passion for learning and staying updated with the latest technologies and trends in web development.
Duties include the following, but not limited to:
• Work closely with the development team to implement new features and functionalities on companies’ e-commerce websites.
• Product Syncing.
• Customize and extend WordPress plugins and themes to meet the specific requirements of the business.
• Optimize website performance by implementing best practices in coding, caching, and database optimization.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues related to website functionality, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with the UX/UI developer to ensure seamless integration of design elements into the website.
• Keep up to date with the latest WordPress updates, trends, and best practices.
• Assist in the migration of content and data when necessary.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as updates, backups, and security scans.

Salary: R23 000 CTC.
