Event Sales Manager

Location: Cape Town
Salary: Market Related

Brief Description of the Vacancy:

We are seeking an Event Sales Manager to join our expanding Corporate and Wedding department in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a successful background and broad experience in the corporate and wedding sector. Responsibilities include sourcing and securing new clients, maintaining current client relationships, managing budgets, and overseeing event operations.

In-office responsibilities:

Investigate, source, and maintain new and existing work.
Plan and budget operations for future events.
Order relevant stock and equipment.
Liaise directly with clients to meet their needs.
Onsite responsibilities:

Collaborate with your team to ensure efficient operations.
Maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
Experience Required:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in bar/event operations.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the event or hospitality sales sector.
Experience managing small to large budgets.
Valid driving license and reliable transportation.
Excellent command of English (reading, writing, speaking).
Attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications and general computer literacy.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate effectively.
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with various departments and stakeholders.
Ability to work and stay calm under pressure.
Willingness to stay and work onsite at or near event locations, including outside regular working hours (adequate accommodation will be provided).
Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, or Hospitality fields.
Key Responsibilities:

Source and secure new clients and maintain relationships with current clients.
Manage budgets and plan operations for upcoming events.
Investigate and source new opportunities while maintaining ongoing work.
Order relevant stock and equipment for events.
Directly liaise with clients to understand and fulfill their event needs.
Oversee the efficiency of operations onsite, working with a team of staff.
Ensure smooth and successful event execution, maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure.
