Job Description

A Key Punch Operator is responsible for entering data into a computer system or other type of data processing equipment via a key punch machine or keyboard. The Key Punch Operator must be able to accurately and efficiently enter data into the system, and must be able to review data for accuracy and completeness.

Key Punch Operator Duties
Operate key punch machine to encode data from source documents onto punched cards
Perform accuracy checks on source documents and data entered
Sort and store completed cards
Run test decks to ensure accuracy of data
Troubleshoot malfunctions of machines
Assist in the maintenance of machines
