1 Key Responsibilities for Skills Development

1.1 Conducting Needs Analysis

2. Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in project management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Skills Development Act.

3. Professional Conduct
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity in all dealings.
- Stay updated with trends and best practices in skills development.

4. Reporting and Accountability
- Report directly to the Head of the department.
- Provide regular updates on training activities and progress.
- Be accountable for the effective and efficient use of training resources.

5. Discretionary Grant Identification and Research
• Identify and research potential discretionary grant opportunities from various sources, including government agencies, foundations, and private organizations.
• Stay updated with the latest information on available grants, including eligibility criteria and application deadlines.
• Assess the suitability of grants for the organization’s goals and projects.

6. Application Preparation and Submission
• Assist in the preparation of comprehensive and compelling grant applications.
• Gather necessary documentation and data to support grant applications.
• Ensure that all applications comply with grant guidelines and submission requirements.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to secure required information and endorsements.

7. Grant Management and Compliance
• Monitor the status of submitted grant applications and follow up as needed.
• Manage awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all grant conditions and reporting requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of grant activities, expenditures, and outcomes.
• Prepare and submit required progress and final reports to grantors.

8. Financial Oversight
• Assist in the development of budgets for grant-funded projects.
• Monitor grant expenditures to ensure they align with the approved budget.
• Work with finance teams to track and report on financial performance related to grants.

9. Stakeholder Engagement
• Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and grantors.
• Build and maintain relationships with funding agencies and organizations.
• Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders about grant opportunities, application status, and project progress.
