Job Description

R20 000.00 a month (Per Person)

Work Schedule: 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off cycle

A prestigious game lodge adjacent to the Kruger National Park is looking for an exceptional management couple (ideally, but strong single candidates will also be considered). This position requires individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences and possessing strong leadership abilities. The ideal candidates should have experience in 4 or 5 Star Lodges, with relevant management expertise
This is a live-in position that offers accommodation, meals while on duty, and various other benefits. The successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing the overall lodge operations, ensuring smooth coordination between departments, maintaining high service standards, and enhancing guest satisfaction
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum of 3–5 years of management experience in a luxury lodge environment (4 or 5 stars)
Matric certificate (Grade 12)
Relevant hospitality qualifications advantageous
First aid certification
Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple departments
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills focused on guest satisfaction
A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and team support
Financial management expertise, including budgeting, stock control, and reporting
Knowledge of lodge reservation systems is advantageous
Previous guiding experience (if applicable)
Work Schedule: 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off cycle, with occasional flexibility required for operational purposes
Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Oversee and manage all lodge operations, including guest relations, housekeeping, maintenance, food and beverage, and administration
Ensure seamless coordination between departments to deliver high-quality service
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage a diverse team, including chefs, waiters, barmen, housekeepers, maintenance staff, and department heads
Conduct training, performance evaluations, and staff meetings to enhance efficiency and team morale
Guest Experience:
Ensure an outstanding level of service to meet and exceed guest expectations
Handle guest feedback and special requests promptly and professionally
Financial and Administrative Oversight:
Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure accurate financial reporting
Oversee procurement, stock control, and inventory management to minimize waste while maintaining quality
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure the lodge operates within all legal and company health, safety, and hygiene standards
Address any operational issues promptly to maintain guest and staff safety
Sustainability and Conservation:
Implement sustainable practices to minimize the lodge’s environmental impact
Support and participate in conservation initiatives, educating staff and guests about environmental preservation
