Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: Accounting Clerk
Accounting practice in Bloemfontein is looking for an Accounting Clerk to hire
• Performing Accounting duties such as recording, posting and processing day-to-day financial transactions and performing related reconciliations
• Calculate, reconcile VAT for clients as well as upload supporting audit documents
• Recording of cash book, petty cash, reconciliation of bank accounts, collection of debtors and creditors/inventories
• Prepare schedules for SARS income tax
• General admin tasks in relation to the financial department
• SARS Efiling knowledge is important
• Calls to SARS to inquire about cases on behalf of clients
• Bank reconciliations;
• Prepare monthly standard journals;
• Do monthly, quarterly and annual statistics;
• Ad hoc tasks.
Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 with Accounting;
• Current studies in B.Com or similar qualification will be beneficial;
• Previous Accountancy experience a recommendation.
• Taxation: 2 to 3 years
• General Experience: 2 to 3 years
• VAT payment preparation: 2 to 3 years
• Articles beneficial

Skills:
• Good communication and language skills in Afrikaans and English – both languages mandatory;
• Computer literate (MS Office);
• SAGE online accounting / Pastel experience;
• Excel experience;
• Numerical;
• Accounting insight;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Ability to meet deadlines;
• Highly detail oriented and organized in work;
• Ability to show flexibility with changing priorities;
• Ability to take initiative and run with tasks on a month to month basis;
• Language skills – above average speaking, reading and writing skills in Afrikaans and English are essential. Both languages are compulsory.
