Qualifications / Requirements:
• Matric
• Diesel Mechanic qualification
• Valid drivers license – Code 14 with PDP highly advantageous
• Minimum of 5 years experience in the Diesel Mechanic trade
• Must have knowledge on air brake systems
• Must be available to work overtime and attend to breakdowns when required
• Excellent communication skills
• Computer literate
• Team player and able to thrive under pressure
• Time management skills and able to take responsibility
Key Performance Areas:
• Perform maintenance on trucks, trailers and depot as well as depot and fleet routine inspections
• Repairs on truck and trailers
• 24hour breakdowns (standby)
• Maintain fleet and depot
• Order parts and maintain stock
• Roadworthy and safe loading inspections
• Tyre changes
• Health and safety inspections
• Fleet inspections
• Team Leader
