Job Description

This is a growing small accounting firm seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join the team. This is a hybrid role, offering a flexible work arrangement with the ability to work from home while also visiting clients as needed. The Accountant will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, supporting our clients and contributing to the smooth operation of the firm.

Responsibilities:
• Client Work:
o Performing bookkeeping and accounting services for clients.
o Preparing and analyzing financial statements.
o Assisting with tax preparation and filing (individual and business).
o Providing accounting and financial advice to clients.
o Visiting client locations as needed for meetings, audits, or other on-site work.
• Accounting Operations:
o Maintaining accurate financial records for the firm.
o Assisting with internal audits.
o Reconciling bank accounts and other financial records.
o Preparing reports and analyses as required.
• Other Duties:
o Staying up-to-date on accounting regulations and best practices.
o Participating in professional development activities.
o Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting .
• Completed articles.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel, Sage, Xero, and Draftworx).
• Experience with tax preparation software is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Preferably (not essential) bi-lingual in English and Afrikaans.
• Must have your own transport.
