Job Description
The Role
Reporting directly to the Board, the Executive Director will be responsible for:
• Strategic Leadership & Operational Excellence
o Directing and controlling the work and resources of the company to ensure optimal performance.
o Overseeing the recruitment, development, and retention of high-calibre professionals to meet organisational objectives.
o Preparing and implementing effective business plans, with rigorous monitoring against key performance indicators.
• Board Advisory & Policy Development
o Providing strategic advice and up-to-date insights on industry developments to inform board decisions.
o Guiding the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and best practices.
• Stakeholder & Relationship Management
o Establishing and nurturing strong links with major customers, government bodies, local authorities, and key industry stakeholders.
o Representing the company in critical negotiations with customers, suppliers, and partners to secure advantageous terms.
• Financial Stewardship & Performance Reporting
o Leading the budgeting process, ensuring financial targets are met, costs are minimised, and revenue streams are optimised.
o Overseeing the preparation of annual reports, accounts, and performance reviews.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement
o Driving research and development programmes to keep the company at the forefront of industry trends and competitive offerings.
o Championing effective marketing and public relations strategies to promote the company’s image and services.
• Compliance & Corporate Governance
o Ensuring that all aspects of the organisation adhere to health, safety, and equal opportunities policies.
o Implementing robust management systems to enhance overall service quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
• Academic Credentials:
o A relevant Engineering diploma/degree is required.
o Postgraduate studies in Business are highly regarded.
• Professional Experience:
o A minimum of 10–15 years’ experience in the engineering sector, with a substantial portion in senior management roles.
o Demonstrated track record in strategic planning, operational excellence, and effective stakeholder engagement.
