Job Description

Our client is searching for a dynamic and results-driven National Commercial Manager to oversee the formulation and execution of business strategies. This critical role involves negotiating contracts, managing client relationships, identifying new market opportunities, and ensuring the company remains competitive within the industry.
A key responsibility will be developing and implementing actionable commercial plans that align with the company’s strategic objectives. The National Commercial Manager will also be required to ensure that all negotiations, transactions, and commercial activities comply with legal requirements, industry standards, and internal company procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Develop and implement strategic commercial plans to achieve defined sales and revenue goals.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and expand the company's market presence.
- Collaborate with the executive team to align commercial strategies with overarching company objectives.

Business Development and Client Management:
- Develop compelling business proposals and pitch presentations.
- Negotiate and finalize business and sales agreements, staying informed on market trends and competitor activities.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners.

Team Leadership and Development:
- Provide leadership and training to the commercial team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Identify and address skills gaps within the team, offering coaching and professional development opportunities.
- Encourage innovation and collaboration across departments to optimize results.

Contract and Risk Management:
- Manage and review contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
- Address and resolve issues related to contracts and commercial operations.
- Assess account risks and provide strategic recommendations to mitigate potential challenges.

Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyse performance metrics, providing actionable insights to the executive committee (ExCo).
- Develop monthly and quarterly performance reports, highlighting achievements and areas for improvement.
- Analyse sales trends and suggest adjustments to enhance overall company performance.

Operational Oversight:
- Oversee daily commercial operations to ensure seamless task execution.
- Drive efficiencies and deliverables in a high-pressure environment, maintaining a focus on quality and outcomes.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, supply chain, and other internal teams to execute commercial plans effectively.

Growth and Innovation:
- Identify growth opportunities, including partnerships, joint ventures, and new initiatives.
- Pursue innovative solutions to improve market position and operational efficiency.

Requirements
- Proven experience in warehousing and supply chain environments.
- Strong background in deal structuring and proposal development.
- Demonstrated capacity to focus on and achieve key strategic objectives.
- Advanced skills in contract management and compliance.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skilled negotiator with the ability to close complex deals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Commercial Contracts Manager (CCCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) are beneficial.
- At least 8-10 years of proven experience in business development, commercial management, or a similar leadership role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry market dynamics, legal frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis, reporting, and project management.
