Job Description
Position: Electronic Systems Engineer
Contract: 6 month fixed term contract
Location: Cape Town CBD, South Africa.
Remuneration: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop electronic circuits, systems, and components and code according to project requirements.
Hands on approach to create and test prototypes of electronic circuits and systems.
Assist with support and development requests and outcomes between Development and Technical teams.
Conduct testing and validation of electronic system designs and configurations to ensure functionality, reliability, and compliance with specifications and standards.
Identify and resolve issues with electronic circuits and systems through troubleshooting and debugging techniques.
Design printed circuit boards (PCBs) for electronic assemblies, ensuring proper layout, routing, and signal integrity.
Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, internal and external, including mechanical engineers, software engineers, and project managers, to develop and integrate electronic systems into larger products or systems.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements in electronic designs.
Stay abreast of advancements in electronic engineering technology and methodologies and identify opportunities for the improvement and optimization of Tagmarshal hardware and back end systems.
Identify & configure, test and implement new systems and hardware to improve Operational and Technical efficiencies.
Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders, including troubleshooting issues and addressing inquiries related to electronic products and or systems.
Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of electronic design and manufacturing.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with existing and future Hardware, electronic designs, SOP’s and installation methodologies, including potential failure modes and reliability concerns.
Optimize electronic designs and systems for cost-effectiveness while meeting performance and reliability requirements.
Assist with product development and design (software & hardware)
REQUIREMENTS:
Driven and self-motivated
Strong time-management skills
The ability to work unmanaged following a project plan and framework
Planning and communication skills

RELEVANT EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Graduate studies or equivalent advantageous
5 years+ experience
Experience in hardware design and installation best practices and processes
Internet of things (IOT)
LoRaWan radios and gateways
Low power battery and budget management
IOT Solar hardware and firmware optimization
GPS (standard and corrected via A-GPS and PPP)
3D design and printing
E-ink and or digital displays
Experience in product design and manufacturing processes
Passion for or experience in Golf, advantageous
Product and system training will be provided
