A dynamic and growing engineering consulting firm is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their head office in Durban. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining compliance with statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
-Maintain accurate financial records, including journals, ledgers, and reconciliations
-Prepare financial statements, management reports, and forecasts
-Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
-Oversee daily cash flow, treasury functions, and bank reconciliations
-Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, and regulatory standards
-Provide audit support and assist in budgeting and financial planning
-Communicate financial performance and investment strategies to stakeholders
-Support operational teams and understand relevant technical aspects of the business
Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
-Professional certification (SAICA, CIMA, ACCA) is a strong advantage
-Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience
-Strong knowledge of South African accounting standards and tax regulations
-Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, or Xero
-Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
