Job Description

Location: Port Shepstone
Roles and Responsibilities:
Installation of Electrical Systems:

Install wiring systems, outlets, switches, circuit breakers, and lighting fixtures.

Ensure all installations comply with national electrical codes and project specifications.

Maintenance and Repairs:

Diagnose and repair electrical faults in systems and equipment.

Conduct regular maintenance checks to prevent system failures.

Blueprint and Diagram Interpretation:

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to plan layout and installation.

Testing and Inspection:

Use testing equipment (e.g., multimeters, clamp meters) to assess system functionality.

Conduct inspections and ensure systems meet safety and regulatory standards.

Safety Compliance:

Follow safety protocols and wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.

Ensure all electrical work adheres to local laws and building codes.

Coordination with Other Trades:

Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other skilled trades on-site.

Assist with planning for electrical needs during construction phases.

Emergency Response:

Respond to emergency breakdowns or outages and perform necessary repairs promptly.

Documentation:

Maintain logs of completed work, issues found, and parts used.

Job Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Experience:
2–5 years of experience as an electrician in construction or hotel projects.

Familiarity with commercial and residential wiring practices.

Technical Skills:
Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.

Proficient in using electrical testing tools and hand tools.

Knowledge of local electrical codes and safety standards.

Certifications:
Valid Electrician License (as per local/state laws).

Safety training certifications (e.g., OSHA, basic electrical safety).

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy equipment.

Comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces.

Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Salary:
R 250,00 Monthly
